Add Competitors to Track
Tracking competitors is essential to understanding your market position. Surva.ai monitors competitor ads, organic rankings, AI visibility, and landing page changes so you can respond quickly to market shifts.
How to Add a Competitor
- Navigate to Competitors in the sidebar
- Click the Add Competitor button
- Enter the competitor domain (e.g., competitor.com)
- Optionally add a display name for easy reference
- Click Save to begin tracking
What Happens After Adding
Once you add a competitor, Surva.ai will:
- Scan for their active Google Ads
- Check their organic rankings for your tracked keywords
- Monitor their AI visibility across platforms
- Capture their landing page content
- Begin building historical data
Competitor Limits by Plan
Each subscription tier includes different competitor limits:
- Free - 2 competitors
- Starter - 5 competitors
- Growth - 15 competitors
- Scale - 50 competitors
Choosing Which Competitors to Track
Consider tracking:
- Direct competitors - Companies selling similar products/services
- Indirect competitors - Alternative solutions to the same problem
- Aspirational competitors - Market leaders you want to learn from
- New entrants - Emerging players disrupting the market
Auto-Discovered Competitors
Surva.ai may suggest competitors based on:
- Who advertises on your tracked keywords
- Who ranks organically for your keywords
- Who appears in AI responses alongside you
Review suggestions in the Discovered Competitors section and click to add any that are relevant.
Editing Competitor Details
To update a competitor:
- Go to the competitor list
- Click the edit icon next to the competitor
- Update the display name or notes
- Save changes
Removing Competitors
To stop tracking a competitor:
- Go to the competitor list
- Click the delete icon
- Confirm removal
Note: Historical data for removed competitors is retained for 30 days in case you want to re-add them.
Best Practices
- Start with 3-5 key competitors and expand over time
- Include at least one market leader for benchmarking
- Review and update your competitor list quarterly
- Use display names to keep your dashboard organized
