Connect Surva.ai to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor (MCP Server)

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code to your Surva.ai data with the Surva.ai MCP server. Setup steps, permissions, tokens and example questions.

What the MCP Server Does

The Surva.ai MCP server connects AI assistants to your Surva.ai account using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard assistants use to reach outside tools and data. Once connected, you can ask your assistant questions like "How did our AI visibility change this month?" or "Which prompts recommend our competitors but not us?" and get answers drawn from your own Surva.ai tracking.

The server URL is:

https://app.surva.ai/mcp

It works with any client that supports remote MCP servers, including Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It is included with every Surva.ai plan.

What Your Assistant Can See

AI visibility and share of voice across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Google AI Overviews

Answer gaps: prompts where competitors are recommended and you are not

Read tools use data Surva.ai has already collected on its regular refresh schedule. They never run new AI queries and do not use article credits.

If you allow changes when you connect, the assistant can also add prompts and competitors. Those count toward your plan limits, the same as adding them in the app. Assistants can never see billing, team members or passwords, and cannot delete anything.

Connect Claude

In Claude on the web or desktop, open Settings, then Connectors.
Choose Add custom connector, name it Surva.ai and paste https://app.surva.ai/mcp.
Click Connect. Sign in to Surva.ai if asked.
On the Surva.ai consent screen, choose which brands to share and whether to allow changes, then click Allow access.
Start a chat, enable the Surva.ai connector and ask a question.

Connect ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Apps & Connectors.
Create a new app or connector. On some plans this is under Advanced settings, Developer mode.
Name it Surva.ai, paste the server URL and choose OAuth.
Approve access on the Surva.ai consent screen.

Connect Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code

Claude Code: run claude mcp add --transport http surva https://app.surva.ai/mcp, then type /mcp and choose Authenticate.

Cursor: add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

Personal Access Tokens

For scripts, agents and clients that do not support OAuth, create a personal access token. Open the profile menu at the bottom of the sidebar, choose Integrations, then AI assistants (MCP). Under Personal access tokens, name the token, choose its brand access and click Create token. Copy it right away; it is shown only once. Send it as Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN.

Agencies and Multiple Brands

When you connect, you can share every brand in an account or only one brand. To keep each client separate, connect once per client and choose that client's brand. If a connection covers several brands, ask about a brand by name, for example "Show answer gaps for Acme".

Manage and Disconnect

Every connection and every tool call is listed on the AI assistants page under Integrations. Click the trash icon next to a connection to disconnect it immediately.

Limits

Each account can make up to 60 tool calls per minute. Daily allowances are 250 on the free trial, 1,000 on Starter, 5,000 on Growth and 20,000 on Business. The counter resets at midnight.
